This innovative new concentration within the Communication & Media major at Utica University combines a foundation of communication courses with courses from a variety of other disciplines as preparation for students who wish to become advocates for human rights, civil rights, and environmental causes, community organizers, social workers, alternative media workers, or lobbyists, as well as those considering graduate study in law, social work, or the social sciences.
C&SJ students complete 30 hours of study in the following courses:

C&SJ is part of Utica University's major in Communication & Media (CMM), in which all students complete the following Foundational courses:

All CMM students also choose an addition 6 credit hours of major electives (200 level or above, excluding fieldwork or internships) from any the following areas: Communication Arts, Film Studies, Journalism, Public Relations, or Theatre.
The Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication & Media with a concentration in Communication & Social Justice requires the successful completion of a minimum of 120 credit hours, at least 90 of which must be designated as liberal arts and sciences.
